Gaza pier turned karaoke bar falls into sea in latest US embarrassment
Gaza revelers look on in disbelief as the US military-built karaoke bar falls into the sea.

GAZA — In the latest embarrassment for the US military, the temporary pier that was turned into a late-night karaoke bar has fallen into the sea after the pier broke into pieces.

Gaza revelers, starving from no aid and high on paint fumes provided by an Israeli NGO, were going wild during a rendition of “Space Oddity” by David Bowie when the stage fell into the sea. The disaster sparked an unprecedented riot.

Last week, after failing to delivery aid via its much-touted temporary pier, the US military announced that the $300+ million project would instead become the location of a lively night scene, starting off with karaoke Wednesdays.

The ploy worked, as even Hamas militants joined the fun, but the latest setback dealt yet another blow to America’s reputation.

“The Zionists and their American puppet have no mercy,” screamed Zahir Malek, a Rafah resident turned refugee, at the sight of the disaster.

“The silly Americans can’t even get karaoke right,” Malek raged.

The Pentagon on May 28 announced that the pier broke apart and was floating aimlessly in the Mediterranean. Days earlier, heavy seas forced two US military vessels that were part of the pier operation to beach in Israel, and then part of the pier broke off completely, including a wider parking area for dropping off supplies transported by ship.

“What will we do now?” asked Umm Majid from northern Gaza who traveled to the pier upon news of the karaoke experience. “We no longer will have any distraction from our misery.”

“There is word Hamas is trading food for suicide bombers. We might try that. I have five sons,” she cried.
