WASHINGTON, DC — US President Joe Biden on April 11 said 50,000 confirmed dead Palestinians in Gaza was now his new red line for the Israeli government, following previous red lines at 10,000, 20,000 and 30,000.

“This time it’s for real,” Biden said sternly at a press conference, as the official death toll surged well past 30,000.

Biden has been under enormous political pressure to stop Israel from blocking aid, starving Palestinians, bombing hospitals and targeting aid workers trying to help local civilians.

But actions have not followed up recent rhetoric.

The US military in March said the array of emergency food and humanitarian delivery into Gaza was critical in keeping the targets for US bombs that Israeli uses alive and well.

“You can’t bomb dead people, or at least it’s a rather silly notion,” said US Army general Max Richard said.

The new red line also follow recent news that Israeli developers published plans detailing how they would build luxury beach homes in Gaza once all the Palestinians are eventually pushed into Egypt.
